Manchester United F.C (1) VS Liverpool (4)
So what....???!!! Man United is still leading the league with 4 points AND still have a game in hand. Okay, I'll give credit where it is due and I'll be the first to admit that Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard were magnificent that day, particularly 'El Nino'. He unsettled a usually formidable defence partnership of Ferdinand and Vidic, and my only regret was that Michael Carrick didn't help much in protecting Rio and Vida.
Nevertheless, I honestly think that this result was a really good reminder to Rooney, Ronaldo, Carrick et al. that the Barclays Premier League this season is a whole different ball game altogether than last season. It was a really hard 'kick up the backside' for the Red Devils and rightly so. They were never at their best during the Internazionale game apart from those early 4 minutes at the start of either halves. I'm sure most of the United fans are truly dissapointed with the team's performances lately. You could almost sense the lethargic feeling from United fans all the way from Gombak to the Greater Manchester area, and the look on Sir Alex Ferguson's face when he made his way to the tunnel after the game sums it all up really...
and SAF was rightly defiant at the post-match press conference saying that "at this club it's always about how you respond. When you lose a game: respond. And that is what we will do."
I totally agree with SAF's stance! What say you!!!
